Our broken places
In the darkness, in the disappointment when we often feel so very undone we are oftentimes being put back together. Broken parts of our life can be restored and can come back this time with more strength, grace, and dignity than we ever thought possible if we will give the broken pieces of our life to God. He chases us all the days of our life but it’s usually in our brokenness when we give up our own agenda and surrender to him. Many times when we look around and see nothing but the mess we have made and we decide to finally let him in. We decide to let him have full control. These places aren’t comfortable places. They are places we want to escape from. They are painful places and they are not comfortable. They are places where we don’t have what we want and they are places of long suffering. Yes these are places of lack in the physical realm but in the spiritual realm they are our places of growth and spiritual maturity. These are the places that lead us to Him. If we open ourselves up to Him and allow him to grow us and change us we will find ourselves on paths that lead to the answers to the questions we have been asking for so long. We all want to know where we belong and what our purpose is. I’m here to tell you when we arrive in a broken, desolate place and have nowhere to turn but God these are the moments when he shows up in the biggest way. These are the moments, that if we allow them to, will point us to His purpose and His will for our life. Everything will begin to make sense against the backdrop of the one who created us. In these times of desolation and loneliness God is saying to us, “Come and abide with me.” Use these times to seek me child. In the times of temptation God is whispering, “Let me be your strength”. I have provided a way out. In the times of darkness let Him be a light for you. In the place of lack trust him to be your source. I encourage you today whatever you place of brokenness is let it point you to Him. He is waiting and He is saying. “Let me in this time child”. I want to help you. I want to show you my ways. I’ve been trying to be there for you more, but you’ve been running from me and trying to do it all on your own. So I ask you today, as we sit in such very dark times, will you let this time point you to Him? Will you let Him work in you and show you truth and light and purpose? Will you to choose to pause and hear His voice above the noise of life? God never intended for us to be so busy we couldn’t hear Him. That’s why he commands us in psalm 46:10 to “Be Still and Know that I am God” What is He saying to you today? If you get still enough you just might hear Him speak!
John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me.
Jeremiah 33:3 Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
